2014 ULN Staff Picks: Week 6

As the season winds down, there are more and more key match-ups as teams fight for playoffs spots. We’ve broken down some of the best match-ups this week. We predict the scores for the Timpview @ Woods Cross (boys), Roy @ Woods Cross (girls), Syracuse @ Bonneville (boys) and UVU @ USU (MCLA) games. A little bit of something for everyone. Bradford Davis took the lead last week and is at 16-5. Paul Walker comes in at 15-6 and Tim Haslam is at 14-7. Friend of the site, Jeff Brzoska, who has been playing along via the comments, went 4-0 last week and stands at 16-5. Don’t forget to leave your predictions in the comments below.

Boys: Timpview @ Woods Cross (4/16)
Bradford Davis: Woods Cross wins 8-6
I think the home field advantage will be too much for the Thunderbirds.  Keadon Adamson will lead the Wildcat attack and will initiate a majority of the offensive pressure.
Paul Walker: Woods Cross wins 11-8
Brayden Hudson and Keadon Adamson, averaging over 4 points a game will lead their team to victory. As a team, Woods Cross averages over 12 points a game, while Timpview allows more points than they score.
Tim Haslam: Woods Cross wins 13-7
The Wildcats are coming off a tough loss to Fremont but will rebound with a solid win over Timpview.
Girls: Roy @ Woods Cross (4/16)
Bradford Davis: Roy wins 7-5
I think returning class for Roy will be the proving point of this match.  Watch for the young Woods Cross players to play a big part for the Wildcats.
Paul Walker: Roy wins 10-7
Both teams each only have one loss. Roy not only scores more goals but also allows less. Woods Cross has played well, but will not be able to overcome Roy’s solid offense.
Tim Haslam: Woods Cross wins 9-8
The Wildcats will user their home field advantage to take get the win in a key D-II North conference game.
Boys: Syracuse @ Bonneville (4/18)
Bradford Davis: Syracuse wins 10-8
This is going to be a great game.  Both teams are full of talent and are gunning for the W. I’ve got to give it to Syracuse however.  With their offensive firepower, lead by Jordan Stark and Connor Meyer, they are going to be too much to handle for the Bonneville Lakers.
Paul Walker: Bonneville wins 11-10 in OT
Syracuse has a major advantage against most teams with Connor Meyer at face. However, Bonneville has brothers Austin and Alex Croyle to go along with Jared Johnson who all average over 4 points per game. Syracuse will do well, but will fall short in OT
Tim Haslam: Syracuse wins 16-12
A great showdown in D-II will result in the Titans getting the win.
MCLA: UVU @ Utah State (4/19)
Bradford Davis: UVU wins 14-10
UVU is on fire right now, and will continue to roll into the RMLC playoffs with a win over USU.  With the Wolverines dominating at face-off with Duke Babka, and the Terp-like defense, they are going to have a lot of possession time to turn into goals.
Paul Walker: Utah State wins 12-10
UVU has had an impressive return season. Utah State has really picked up their game as well. This will be a close game, but Utah State will come away with the W.
Tim Haslam: UVU wins 15-9
The Wolverines are playing very well and are hungry for the postseason. Both teams had this game circled on their calendars when they were released last year. The winner goes on to the RMLC D-I playoffs while the other stays home.
