2015 Girls D-II Preview: South Conference

Copper Hills Grizzlies (7-6)
Copper Hills had a good season last year making it to the state playoffs. They lost leaders Mikayla Vu and Taylor Fullmer but will be returning Mercedes Kent. The Grizzlies will look to Kent to lead the team back to the playoffs. They will open up their season on March 5th when they play Judge.
Lehi Girls Lacrosse ChampionshipLehi Pioneers (8-5)
Lehi had a great season on 2014. They finished second in the South but ran the table and won the state championship. Their successful season last year was due, in large part, to the high scoring power of Megan Freeman, Shae Munger and Addie Pearson. This year, they will be without leading scorer Megan Freeman. They will look to Pearson and Munger to lead the offense as they attempt to repeat in 2015. Lehi will open up their season against Woods Cross on March 3rd.
Pleasant Grove Vikings (12-2)
The Vikings had their best season in 2014. They finished third in the south and narrowly lost the state championship. It will be difficult for Pleasant Grove to repeat in 2015 as they graduate their top three scorers, Alese Norton, Kaci Hamilton, and Megan Lovell. They will attempt to defend their title when they travel to American Fork on March 2nd.
Timpanogos Timberwolves (0-11)
Timpanogos had a disappointing season last year but will look to Jessica Lindow to help the Timberwolves improve on last year.They open up their season on March 2nd when they take on Lone Peak.
Timpview Thunderbirds (4-8)
Timpview will return T-bird star, Summer Sutherland. The T-birds will need Sutherland to have her best season yet if they hope to make the playoffs and be a real competitor in the state. They begin their season on March second when they travel north to take on Roy.
Waterford Ravens (7-6)
Waterford lost it’s two leading scorers Erin Roach and Stella Gnaeding. They will need a team effort to repeat last years successful season. They will open up their season with a tough game when Juan Diego comes to town on March 18th.
West Jordan Jaguars (2-10)
West Jordan will have a very good chance of improving on last years season. They will be returning their top three scorers Izabella Waters, Abigail Henderson and Mia White. They will open up their season against Lone Peak on March 5th.
