Utah Starz LogoYou read that right! The New Utah Starz under University of Utah Head Coach Rick Kladis has rocked the Utah Lacrosse World by bringing in 22 coaches with college playing experience to take the Utah Starz program to the next level! If you are not a Utah Starz player, you may never find this kind of training available anywhere!
Coach Kladis commented on this announcement saying, “My goal is to bring together a staff of young, passionate guys who have played or coached lacrosse at a high level, and have a lot to share with kids wanting to raise their level of play.  With so many great coaches, we will be able to run very efficient practices and work with our players on elements of the game that are specific to their position, and their level.”
Just to name one of the New Utah Starz Coaches…meet Ted Ferrin, graduate from BYU…2012 RMLC Offensive Player of the Year, 2012 RMLC 1st Team All-Conference Attack, 2011 RMLC Offensive Player of the Year, 2011 RMLC 1st Team All-Conference Attack, 2010 RMLC 2nd Team All-Conference Attack, 2012 MCLA Godekeraw, 2012 MCLA Nike Player of the Month (March), 2012 MCLA Scholar Athlete, 2012 MCLA Player of the Year, 2012 MCLA 1st Team All-America Attack, 2011 MCLA 2nd Team All-America Attack, 2010 MCLA Scholar Athlete, 2010 MCLA Honorable Mention All-America Attack, 2007 MCLA 2nd Team All-America Midfield!
“Teddy is a role-model for young players from our area” said Kladis. “I actually coached Ted along with other standouts Mark Manning, Elliott Grow, J.T. Nebeker, Dallas McClelland, and more when they played for Team Utah back in 2007. Team Utah (now the “Utah Starz”) helped put them in position to really excel, and they took the opportunities and ran.  They went to great schools and had amazing college experiences and careers.  That is what we want to do for our players now.”
