Holland Named RMAC Academic Player of the Year; Two Others on All-Academic Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Westminster’s Josh Holland has been named the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Player of the Year after the conference’s All-Academic First Team and Honor Roll were announced Wednesday.
Josh HollandHolland is second in the RMAC, averaging 3.20 goals per game and fourth in the RMAC with 1.20 assists per game. The senior from Riverton, Utah owns a 3.88 GPA and is majoring in Psychology. He becomes the first Griffin in any sport to be named the conference Academic Player of the Year.
Joining Holland on the All-Academic First Team from Westminster is Jake Berard and Thomas Sarjeant. Berard is a junior from Meridian, Idaho, that is majoring in Business Management. Sarjeant is a sophomore from Carlsbad, Calif., that hasn’t declared a major.
Westminster tied with Colorado State University – Pueblo for the most first team members with three.
The RMAC also announced that Griffins Dominic Conti, Pace Cranney, Bridger Fisher, Zach Stout, and Troy Vance were named to the Academic Honor Roll.
To qualify for First Team All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
All players who were not voted to the first Team All-Academic were automatically qualified for the All-Academic Honor Roll.
