Aggies Win in Moscow, Idaho

Utah StateLogan, Utah – Sunday, April 13th – Utah State University  traveled last Friday to Moscow, Idaho to play the University of Idaho Vandals. USU had a decisive victory over Vandals 15-10. University of Idaho’s Colton Raichl made the first goal of the game with an assist from Trystan Chambers within the first minute. Zac Payne would quickly turn the first quarter around by scoring not one goal but two goals,  assisted by Matt Taylor and Blade Garlow. With less than a minute, Garlow assisted Mann with a goal leaving the score 3-1 at the end of the first.
Between the pipes Aggie freshman goalie Davy Colby had 7 saves. Vandal’s #3 Colton Raichl made another goal.  The Aggies however would not be silenced off a fast break Zach Payne hit Garlow to Taylor who nailed a round the world shot was followed by Aggies  Matt Taylor with a goal assisted by Blade Garlow increasing the score 4-2. Raichl from U of I would score again followed by 2 goals from Blade Garlow and another goal from Zac Payne.  At the end of the half the Aggies held the lead 7-4. Coming into the second half both teams were pumped ready for a win. 2 minutes into the half Chris Meyer from USU would find the back of the net assisted by Taylor.
Blake Batman from U Of  I would quickly answer back with a goal. Aggie Garlow (1 goal) and  Taylor (2 goals) would make the next 3 goals. With the score 11-5 Vandal Harrison Sawyer would slow the bleeding with an unassisted goal. Zac Payne with a win in mind would put up his 4th goal of the game off a feed from Mann. The Vandals would find the back of the net one more time but Matt Taylor from Utah State would get an unassisted goal leaving the score 13-7. Goalie Davy Colby had 4 saves.
In the 4th quarter both teams would fight hard but only come up with 2 goals each. Kevin Mann and Brendan Sanarky scored both goals for Utah State University, sealing the deal with a final score of 15-10.
The Aggies went to Moscow with a win in mind. Both Offense and Defense played their hearts out and came together to defeat the University of Idaho Vandals. Freshman Davy Colby had 22 saves and Jared Day and Marshal McGill led Face-off winning 21-6. This is the first time Utah State have beaten the Vandals in a regular season game.
