Behind The Goggles with Pleasant Grove Vikings Defender Alese Norton

Today we talk with Pleasant Grove Junior Defender Alese Norton. Norton started playing lacrosse in 4th grade. There weren’t any leagues for that age so she played with her sister in a junior high league. Norton first started playing lacrosse because her older brother played.
Utah Lacrosse News: Describe Your Favorite Lacrosse Memory
Alese Norton: Man I have so many memories! The one I think was most unusual was when I played center and ran to make a goal, but instead of the ball hitting the net, it went between the goalie and her goalie pads. Right on her stomach! Everyone looked very confused because no one knew where the ball was.
ULN: What is your current stick of choice?
AN: deBeer Tempest Pro 2.0
Alese NortonULN: What is your favorite pre-game ritual?
AN: One of my favorite rituals we do is tell jokes. My team loves jokes! I especially love jokes because they make me feel loose and more relaxed.
ULN: Besides your own home field, what is your favorite field to play lacrosse on?
AN: I’ve never seen one yet, but I would say a field that’s grass is the perfect length, lines are very precise and clear, and there are no pot holes.
ULN: How/Why did you pick your jersey number?
AN: Well my older brother’s number was 4, and my sister’s was too. My sister was on my team so I had to choose a different number and I chose 5. I guess you could say I chose 5 because there are five kids in my family.
ULN: Who is on your iPod these days?
AN: Imgaine Dragons, Ellie Goulding, and Ingrid Michaelson
ULN: What Hollywood star would play you in a movie about your life?
AN: Sandra Bullock, I love her acting.
ULN: What is your favorite, can’t miss TV show at the moment?
AN: The Biggest Loser
ULN: What movie could you watch 1,000 times and not get sick of it?
AN: Tangled
ULN: What is your favorite fast food?
AN: Wendy’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich
ULN: When not playing lacrosse, what are you doing in your free time?
AN: I loooove video games, they are freakin awesome. I dominate at MarioKart. When I’m not playing video games, I’m either practicing the piano, viola, violin, or cooking. I love making fun recipes for my family to eat. Especially desserts, I’m a huge sweet tooth.
ULN: M&M’s or Skittles?
AN: Right now, Skittles.
ULN: Sports Car or 4-wheel drive?
AN: 4-wheel drive baby, gotta get up my driveway.
ULN: Beach or mountains?
AN: Beach
ULN: What is the first thing you would do if you win the Championship this year? Who would be the first person you would call or text?
AN: Wow, I would scream my guts out! My smile wouldn’t leave my face for a week! I would probably call or text any girls on my team who weren’t able to make it, then I would just hug my sister. (Who is my team’s assistant coach right now) Then call my family, and friends.
