The Bocklet family is well-known throughout the lacrosse community — brothers Matt, Chris, and Mike all played for Major League Lacrosse’s Denver Outlaws last season. So, when we heard they’d be running their X10 camp in Park City (as well as their sleepaway outdoor adventure lacrosse camp in Colorado), we wanted to know more. We asked Chris, the youngest and allegedly best-looking brother, a few questions about their unique camps and the opportunity for players to learn from the Pros.
-What sets X10 camps apart from other summer lacrosse camps?
X10 Lacrosse is a family run overnight lacrosse camp. The Bocklet siblings have been putting on these camps for the past 5 summers. The camp is unique because the Bocklet’s modeled it after their childhoods, which were filled with many activities outside of lacrosse. When campers are not learning the game of lacrosse from our great staff, they are participating in outdoor activities and other sports.
-What can campers look forward to/expect from X10?
Campers can look forward to our friendly learning environment. The Bocklet family encourages campers to become leaders and help involve everyone at camp. It does not matter how much lacrosse experience a camper has because coaches are there to teach all levels. We do our best to make everyone better lacrosse players, but more importantly we want to develop good people.
-Why did you choose Park City as a location for X10?
Our X10 overnight camps are great for people who love the game of lacrosse and enjoy camping, hiking, fishing and other outdoor sports. Park City is a great location where many residents have the same interests as us.
-The Bocklet name is well-known in lacrosse, how did you all come to decide to create and run X10?
We wanted to come up with a lacrosse camp that was different from the rest. Growing up we did not focus all of our time on lacrosse and never specialized in one sport. X10 is about developing the well rounded athlete/person that wants to get better at lacrosse, but also participate in other sports and activities. Our goal for each camper’s X10 experience is to help them find that healthy balance, and we truly believe we have found it with our camp.
