On senior night at Brighton HS, the 11 graduating players were all called on by Coach Brandon Horoba to start the game for the Bengals and set the tone for the night.  Led by senior captains, Ryan Fogarty, Luke Fairman, Ashton Schmidt and Brody Bolerjack—Grant Pierce, Mario Garcia, Logan Lund, Parker Smith, Kyler Garden, Nick Carrigan and Griffin Rasmussen all stepped up to the task of leading the Bengals to a 13-6 win over the Titans.
“It was great to have our seniors get an opportunity to win their last home game, and for our team to really just enjoy the moment,” noted Brighton Head Coach Brandon Horoba.
The seniors put up the numbers on the night combining for 6 goals and 5 assists.  Fogarty finding the net twice and Grant Pierce notching 3 assists and a goal.   Bubba Fairman tallied 5 goals in the game, 2 off of great feeds from Pierce.
Defensively the Bengals put together a strong effort led by goalie Mitch World and his 14 saves, many of which were one on one stops on the crease.   Defenders Brody Bolerjack, Nick Carrigan, Bryson Taylor, Aaron Nakamura, and Max Hoole, brought the heat, pressuring the Syracuse offense into a plethora of turnovers that they turned into fast break opportunities with the offense.
Syracuse was led by senior middie Connor Meyer, the Titans leading scorer on the season, who notched 3 unassisted goals followed by Jackson Anderson’s 2 scores.
The win puts Brighton at 12-1 for the season, 7-0 in league play.  Syracuse drops to 7-5 on the season.  Brighton will take to the field two more times this week, Thursday @ Alta and Saturday @ Pleasant Grove.
