BYU Cougars Name 2015 Captains

For Immediate Release – BYU Men’s Lacrosse
PROVO, UT— The BYU Lacrosse team has announced two captains for the 2015 season. Senior Mike Fabrizio and sophomore Harrison Wardle will be leading the cougars.
Mike FabrizioMike Fabrizio is a senior from Bountiful, Utah. Fabrizio, a two-time MCLA All-American (2013 and 2014) was a MCLA 2nd Team All-American Attack player and a MCLA Scholar Athlete in the 2014 season. Fabrizio averages 3.06 points per game and has scored 94 goals during his career.
“I am committed to doing anything it takes to help us win,” said Fabrizio. “At the end of the day, I don’t think there is anyone on our team from coaches to players who doesn’t honestly believe that we have what it take this year.”
For Fabrizio, this season means more than just winning—it means stepping up and being a leader. Fabrizio is excited about the team he has seen this past fall and is excited to see how the pieces of the team will come together this season.
Harrison WardleHarrison Wardle is a sophomore from Mendham, New Jersey. Wardle, a high school lacrosse All-American recently returned home from his two-year church mission to Phoenix, Arizona. In 2012, Wardle was honored as an RMLC All-Conference Defensive player. Wardle had 13 groundballs in the 2012 season and was a critical member of the defensive unit.
“I have a lot to learn from the guys on this team and am looking forward to playing along side them,” said Wardle.
Harrison is excited about the overall quality of the team, saying that everyone is willing to work hard and contribute. Wardle is also looking forward to the depth of talent this team has to offer, especially from the strong upperclassmen.
“We are extremely pleased that Mike Fabrizio and Harrison Wardle will be representing our team as captains this year,” said BYU Head Coach Matt Schneck. “We have a tremendous amount of confidence in both of them and know that they will do an outstanding job leading the team both on and off the field.”
Matt Schneck is entering his 6th year as the Cougar’s head coach and 14th year overall with the team. The Cougars are looking forward to a great 2015 season.
