Corner Canyon Defeats Good Counsel (MD), 9-7

Corner Canyon Lacrosse LogoOLNEY, Md.—Fueled by a dominant defensive performance, the Corner Canyon men’s lacrosse team defeated Our Lady of Good Counsel (MD) 9-7 Thursday evening at Kline Stadium.
Good Counsel (6-5) were the aggressors in the first half building a 4-2 lead, but the Chargers (11-1) came out of the half with a three goal run to take the lead 5-4. The teams traded punches the rest of the third quarter, until Harrison Waddoups provided what would be the game winning goal with :01 left in the quarter.
Both teams added a goal in the final quarter, but the Chargers defense was too much for the Falcons. Goalkeeper Kade Arbon provided several key saves in the waning moments, during two separate man down opportunities, to secure the victory for Corner Canyon.
Southern Virginia University men’s lacrosse head coach Jason Lamb was in attendance evaluating the players from Corner Canyon.
“It is great to see such a talented team from Utah come to the East Coast, and represent the state so well,” stated Lamb. “Coach Davis has quickly developed an identify for Corner Canyon and their aggressive, up tempo style of play fits their personnel extremely well.”
Corner Canyon returns to action this Saturday for the last leg of their East coast trip against Springside Chestnut Hill.
