Fairman, Rose Shine In Big 10 Men’s Lacrosse Semifinal

The Big-10 Men’s Lacrosse semifinal was held yesterday, pitting two teams with Utah players on the squads against each other.

Maryland’s Bubba Fairman, a former Brighton High School standout and at one point a No. 1 recruit in the country faced former Corner Canyon stars Casey Rose, Garrett Bullett and Garrett Michaeli.

Fairman recorded a hat-trick on the day, and had an incredible backhanded goal to put Maryland up 6-5 in the second quarter.




Rose scored one for Rutgers, with Bullet forcing two turnovers and Michaeli collecting two ground balls.

With the Maryland win, they will advance to play Johns Hopkins at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 for a chance to nab an automatic qualifier spot in the NCAA tournament. The game will be televised by the Big Ten Network.

As a result of the Rutgers loss, the Scarlet Knights will most likely not make it to the NCAA tournament. The NCAA selection committee will announce the tournament field on Sunday, May 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
