SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster College women’s lacrosse team is ranked No. 1 in the first WCLA poll that was released on Wednesday. This is the second straight year that the Griffins have been No. 1 in the first poll of the year.
Westminster received 233 total points in the poll to take the top spot while receiving nine first place votes. They started the season with three straight wins at the Santa Barbara Shootout. The Griffins will face Air Force and Denver on Friday in Colorado Springs.
Utah is ranked second in the current poll with 219 points and one first place vote. North Carolina Club came in at No. 3 after receiving 215 points and two first place votes. Stanford Club and Elon and ranked fourth and fifth respectively.
