Brighton - JordanMissing 3 starters to injury the Brighton team pulled together and came away with a strong 12-2 victory Tuesday night at Jordan.
“It was a nice win tonight, we had some injuries that allowed several of our players who have not played a lot of minutes this season to step up with our healthy regulars and fill the void,” Noted Head Coach Brandon Horoba.
Things all started at the face off X as Logan Lund won an amazing 17 of 18 draws, giving the Bengals the possession advantage on the night. Lund was also 1 of 7 goal scorers as Brighton continues to share the ball and get nice team wide production. The defense even got into the scoring game on the night as senior captain Brody Bolerjack scored his third goal of the season and fellow close pole Nathan Kenney picked up an assist as he instigated a fast break and fed Bailey Pope on the crease for a great finish. Bubba Fairman led the Bengals with 4 goals and an assist on the night.
Junior Mitch World was in goal for Brighton, leading the defense with 9 saves (82%). The entire defense played great and kept the Beetdiggers off balance and out of high percentage shooting areas. Teaming with Bolerjack and Kenney, Bryson Taylor, Aaron Nakamura, Nick Carrigan, Sione Lund, and Kaden Garden successfully shutdown Jordan on 4 minutes of man up offense.
Jordan’s Braxton McClellan slotted home a nice running shot from the right alley giving Jordan a 1-0 advantage in the first quarter.
