Katie Lock Hired to Lead The Beetdiggers

Katie Lock Jordan Lacrosse After a 12-2 season in 2012, the Jordan Beetdiggers will be led by a familiar face. Alumni Katie Lock has been promoted to take over the team.
Lock was an assistant coach at Jordan for one year before taking the place of former head coach, Pierce Walker who resigned for family reasons. Lock had been given the head coach job when she was hired as assistant.
“I came into the assistant job because I wanted to be able to coach my old high school,” said Lock.
Lock starting playing lacrosse at Jordan her freshman year and played all four years for the Beetdiggers, winning four State Championships. After graduating from high school in 2007, Lock was given a scholarship to Notre Dame of Ohio to play lacrosse and soccer.
Katie Lock - Jordan Lacrosse“College was the best experience of my life,” said Lock. “Now her I am coaching my old high school and love it!”
Lock has also coached the Utah Mamaci and various camps around the state and is eager to share her talents with the team.
“I am looking forward to a fresh start,” said Lock. “We have 13 new, very talented girls on our Varsity team this year! Our girls are working very hard right now in conditioning and they are so eager to get out on the field and play.”
Jordan will be led by Whitney Sieverts, Sasha Mckee and Madison Ingman.
“I am hoping for a successful season,” said Lock. “I know that Jordan Girls Lacrosse has what it takes to make it to the playoffs and then the state championship game. It will take a lot of hard work and dedication. I am very confident in my girls.”
When not on the field, Lock is a teacher at a local charter school.
