Prodigy Play of the Week: Week 3

Week 3 of the high school seasons brought some gems on the field. Have a look at the plays and vote for your favorite. The winner will be announced on Thursday morning.

No. 1 – Michael Perry – Pleasant Grove
Pleasant Grove Attackmen Michael Perry sneaks behind the crease, fakes a pass to the wing and takes it to the cage for the goal.
No. 2 – Park City Girls
The Park City girls started at midfield of a restart by Sam Meyer who passed to Haley Adelman who found Maddie Haynes. Haynes ran through three Juan Diego defenders en route to the great goal.
No. 3 – Chantz Roberts – Herriman
Herriman Attackmen Dillon Meyer finds attackmen Chantz Roberts creeping from behind the crease. Roberts catches it dumps it over the Riverton goalie for goal.
No. 4 – Ellie Carpenter – Brighton
Amy Johnston drives from behind the goal, drawing the defense. She then finds Ellie Carpenter wide open for the great goal.
No. 5 – Luke Fairman – Brighton
Brighton Midfielder Luke Fairman takes the ball from the top of the box and drives right, shooting low and away from 10 yards out for the goal.
No. 6 – Ethan Gosselin – Judge
The Judge man-up unit works it magic, passing around the top and eventually finding Ethan Gosselin who takes a low angle shot and puts it right in the top right corner for the goal.
No. 7 – Spencer Merrifield – Pleasant Grove
Merrifield takes the ball from behind, goes to the left GLE and rips it over his defender and over the Davis goalies shoulder for the goal.
No. 8 – Juan Diego Gilman
Juan Diego Defensemen Matt Jungemann gilmans the ball to his offensive end. The ball bounces in front of the crease and attackmen Luke Graney picks it out of the air and slots it home for the goal.
No. 9 – Jonathan Wagstaff – Timpanogos
Timpanogos Attackman Jonathan Wagstaff works a give and go at the top of the box and loses his defender, stick fakes the slide and bounces it in for the goal.
No. 10 – Dillon Yocom – Davis
Davis Attackmen Dillon Yocom drives down the right side of the field but the Pleasant Grove defense pushes him back. Yocom spins and finds some time and space and rips it from 14 yards out for the goal.

  1. Merrifield was robbing grandma’s cookies all day in that top corner. definitely voting for that one.

  2. Number 1 and number 8 were the best.  Had a hard time deciding but had to go with number 8.
