utah-select-logoSelect Lacrosse is excited to announce dates for the 2014 Select Lacrosse High School Fall Ball season. In its ninth consecutive season, Select Fall Ball is back again with weekly games for boys and girls high school teams at the Salt Lake County Equestrian Park in South Jordan.
“Fall Ball has become a staple in the Utah lacrosse community,” said event director Steve Gray. “It is much more relaxed than spring so it’s a great way for high school teams to work on fundamentals. The girls division, in particular, is more popular than ever and we expect to double the number of teams this season.”
“We had a great spring and won the Utah High School Girls D2 Championship,” said Lehi Coach Greg Freeman, “in large part because of our participation in Select Lacrosse Fall Ball.”
Select Lacrosse Fall Ball games are held on four adjacent fields at the SLCO Equestrian Park Polo Grounds on five Saturdays in September and October. Each team plays at least two games every Saturday. Fall Ball games are scheduled for September 13, 20, 27 and October 4, 11.
“Brighton has played Select Fall Ball since it began in 2006,” said Brighton Varsity Head Coach Brandon Horoba. “The format fits well with our fall practice plan. It is easy for us as coaches since we don’t have to setup the fields and deal with all the equipment. It is fun for the kids because of the festival atmosphere and our parents love it because the games are always at the same, central location.”
