The Stripling Warriors Lacrosse club is set to hold their prospect camp July 9-10 at the Cottonwood Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The goal of the camp is for players who are in the 2019-2024 graduating classes to be taught by an incredible coaching staff, and to gauge interest in playing with the Stripling Warriors club team.
According to the Stripling Warriors website, the program provides a “values-based, competitive lacrosse experience.” The lacrosse club pulls from all areas of the country and competes in a variety of national tournaments.
Stripling Warrior coaches will be at the prospect camp, including Marty Wescott, Jason Lamb, Southern Virginia University defensive coordinator Scott Winterton and current BYU All-American Chandler Wescott.
Marty Wescott has coached in multiple Utah high school championships winning two, along with numerous conference championships. Wescott also was a head coach at Brigham Young University and an offensive coordinator for the Cougars. Wescott has also had success at the club-level in Utah, coaching for Utah Elite, West Coast Starz, Advantage Lacrosse, and Team 6. Wescott has helped over 50 players advance from the high school to collegiate ranks, according to the Stripling Warriors website.
Former-BYU and current Southern Virginia University head coach Jason Lamb will also be in attendance. Southern Virginia recently had a 10-8 record playing in the Capital Athletic Conference at the NCAA Division III level, arguably one of the toughest conferences in the country. Lamb has coached numerous CAC Rookie of the Year’s in addition to his son Shawn as a All-CAC First Team member. Lamb is a former director of operations for the Notre Dame Men’s Lacrosse team.
Interested participants can register at their website, or http://www.striplingwarriorslax.com. The cost of the camp is $75 dollars, which includes a camp t-shirt. The camp will run from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. each day.
