The Prodigy Play Of The Year Contest is Back!

Prodigy Network, the Utah Lacrosse Association and Utah Lacrosse News are pleased to announce the Second Annual Prodigy Play of the Year Contest.
Beginning on March 11, 2013, fans of lacrosse will be able to vote on Utah Lacrosse News for the Prodigy Play of the Week which will be chosen from the top plays from the previous week. Play of the Game clips will be uploaded to Utah Lacrosse News each Monday during the regular season and fans will have until Wednesday night to vote for their favorite highlight from that week. The play with the most votes will become the Prodigy Play of the Week and will be announced every Thursday.
Prodigy Network, Utah Lacrosse Association, Utah Lacrosse NewsThis year, the plays will enter a playoff style bracket. Each weekly winner will be seeded 1-9, with the play gaining the most votes during the regular season grabbing the No. 1 seed. Seeds 10-16 will be chosen from the top second place plays from the weekly contests according to total votes. First round voting will happen on May 6, 7 & 8. Quarterfinal voting will take place on May 9, 10, 11 & 12. Semifinal voting will take place on May 13, 14, & 15. The final two plays will go head-to-head staring on May 16. The winner will be announced at the halftime of the 2013 Boys High School D-I Championship game on May 18, 2013.
“I am very excited for this year’s Play of the Week,” said ULA Boys Program Coordinator Bryan Frates. “With the changes made it will give more teams the opportunity to be seen and voted for. The 16 slot bracket tournament at the end of the season is going to be as exciting as the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament. Let the games begin!
“The winner will get $1,000 worth of Prodigy services. In addition, the Utah Lacrosse Association will pay the 2014 Varsity and JV team fees for the winning team.
Prodigy will select top play nominees from the games they film this season. For plays to be eligible, Prodigy must have filmed the game. If teams would like to order Prodigy’s Media Services for any games this season, please contact:

  1. The ULA is going to pay for team fees for nearly 60 kids? on some teams the fee is over 1,000$……
