Tribal West Lacrosse To Host Grand Re-Opening on November 18

Sandy, UT – November 7, 2017 Tribal West Lacrosse GRAND RE-OPENING Saturday, November 18th. To celebrate 15 years in business, Tribal West Lacrosse will unveil a new and improved indoor shooting cage and upgraded retail space. Re-opening activities take place 9am to 5pm on the 18th at 9860 South 700 East in Sandy, Utah.  Events include ribbon cutting at noon, raffles, games, giveaways, face painting and shooting cage competitions.

Tribal West is an independent retailer specializing in the sport of Lacrosse where ‘all employees are players and/or coaches’. “We outfit boys and girls, men and women, from head to toe, as well as anything a team would need from uniforms, team apparel, accessories and specialized equipment” said owner, Brett, “Fish” Bartlett. A cornerstone of the Lacrosse community, Tribal West is preparing for accelerated growth of the game due to Utah High School Activities Association’s approval to sanction boys and girls’ lacrosse starting in 2019. The University of Utah also announced the addition of men’s lacrosse as a Division I NCAA Sport in 2019.

Growing up in Upstate New York Bartlett was influenced by the sports Native American culture and origins, thus naming the store Tribal West Lacrosse “It is important to us that the history of the game is told in our store”, said Bartlett. “Our passion for Lacrosse is directly connected to the spiritual and physical nature of the Native American game.”

Fish and his wife, Soni Bartlett, also an avid Lacrosse enthusiast, have been serving the Lacrosse community and growing the sport in Utah since before the store opened. They met as board members of the local chapter of US Lacrosse back in 1999. Together they have many accolades as coaches and leaders of the game including multiple Coach of the Year and Man of the Year awards. In addition, Soni holds four consecutive high school state championship titles, was Executive Director of the Utah Lacrosse Association and is in the Utah Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
