ULA Chapter Seeks Coaches for Utah Boys & Girls U-15 Teams

Utah Lacrosse AssociationThe Utah Lacrosse Association Chapter is now taking applications for coaches to lead the 2014 U-15 teams at the 2014 U-15 Championships. The games will be played in Denver on July 21-23, just days after the 2014 FIL World Lacrosse Champion is crowned.
“The U-15 Girls and Boys tournaments are opportunities for the lacrosse players in Utah to go up against the powerhouses of lacrosse in the US,” said Jason Erekson, Chairman of the National Teams Committee. “Teams come from all over the nation, having gone through qualifying rounds to get there. There are also a number of association teams (such as ours) that are invited to attend as well. We have represented Utah well in the past and are looking to do so again in 2014.”
The coaches who are selected will be in charge of organizing and running practices and coaching any scrimmages and games for the team.
“Any and all who would like to coach the teams are eligible to apply,” said Erekson. “These teams represent the state of Utah, not any particular program in Utah.”
Players for the teams are chosen from tryouts held several months prior to the event.
“Those persons who are selected to coach will be coaching the best players in the state against the best teams in the nation,” said Erekson. “The young men and women they will be coaching will gain valuable experience and become leaders on their high school teams.”
Erekson also notes, “There is no monetary compensation, however, all of the coaches travel will be paid for by the ULA, and the memories created will be priceless…”
