This week’s ULN Coaches Poll saw little movement, as Brighton retained the No. 1 spot in the Utah boys high school rankings.
Park City and Olympus broke their tie at the No. 2 spot, with Park City retaining the second space while Olympus dropped to third. It should be noted that the polls for this week’s ULN Coaches poll closed before Olympus’ win over then-ranked No. 4 Corner Canyon last night. Check back for next week’s ULN Coaches Poll for how that will factor into the Top 10.
Brighton’s most recent win was against then-ranked No. 4 Corner Canyon on Friday, which you can read about here. The Bengals have two more tests against Bingham and Riverton, which will set up a showdown with one-loss Park City on May 1, in what should be a great battle between the two teams. Olympus, the current No. 3 team in the poll, suffered their only loss of the season at the hands of Brighton by a score of 16-12. Look for those three teams to clash in the Utah High School Lacrosse League playoffs.
Lone Peak is the dark horse in this year’s championship hunt, as the Knights have had some narrow losses to Brighton (9-7) and American Fork (10-9). If Lone Peak can take things up one more notch, look for them to be dangerous once playoffs roll around.
