Park City Boys JV – 2015 GOTT JV Champs
– The annual Gathering of the Tribes tournament was a last weekend with Alta taking home the Boys Varsity championship. Park City boys won the JV while Brighton Girls won the girls varsity and Park City girls won the JV. Zach Pexton, Eli Levine, Mo Osterloh and Skylar Clarke took home MVP honors.

The Park City Boys JV team won its first ever Gathering of the Tribes tournament tittle on Saturday. The team went 5-0 over the 2 day tournament with solid wins over Bingham, Sky View, Fremont, West Jordan, and Olympus in the finals. The team only surrendered 10 goals over the 5 games. Led by Goalie Connor French and the poles in front of him, Dan Holzrichter, Noah Meyer, Duncan Halsey, the D played exceptionally all weekend. Jack Root was a beast on ground balls, and man down short stick midi. Tournament MVP Eli Levine was a force at face-offs and on the offensive side of the ball. Jack Mintz, Chistian de Lemos, and Will McNamara filled up the score sheets every game. Midi’s Kyle Walterson and Sam Addicott were instrumental, both offensively and defensively, to the Miners success.

Leading Scorers: EAST- Jake Parkin 4 Goals
Box Elder: #20 #8 and #1 each had 1 goal
Goalies & Goalie Stats: East Goalie Kort Johnson 4 Saves | Box Elder 11 Saves
The first quarter between these two teams was a tight battle ending the first quarter with East winning 3-2. Throughout the rest of the game East dominated the possession time and added 11 more goals to their score getting a big win over box elder ending at 14-3

Utahns Abroad

– Two former Utah players found themselves going head-to-head once again when Furman (Grant Pierce, Brighton) took on Bellarmine (Jace Thomas, Bountiful).
– BYU took down Minn-Duluth on Saturday, 10-8. The Cougars will take to the road today to face Arizona in Las Vegas. Read the preview here.
– Minn-Duluth will head to Salt Lake City to take on the Westminster Griffins at 4:00pm in the Griffins home opener.
– Boise State came to town and took on BYU and UVU. The Cougars walked away with 2 wins; 20-2 over Boise State and 20-6 over UVU.
