– The Girls D-II Tournament began yesterday with Copper Hills beating Sky View, 7-3 and Woods Cross getting a 13-7 win over West Jordan. On the other side of the bracket, Roy beat Pleasant Grove 14-6. The second game was postponed due to weather and will either be played today or Saturday.
– In Class B, No. 4 Highland beat No. 5 Bonneville, 8-7. The Rams advance to the Semifinals where they will play No.1 Copper Hills or rival No. 8 East.
– In Class C, No. 7 Idaho Falls beat No. 10 Timpanogos, 6-2. The game was delayed due to weather then ultimately considered final.
– The Park City boys and girls teams remained in the West Top 10 according to Lacrosse Magazine.
– The UVU Freshman/Sophomore Champions Challenge schedule was announced. Games will begin early on Saturday morning and a champion crowned later that night.

The Park City F/S team concluded their season on Thursday with a trip to Albion MS to take on the Brighton F/S squad. In a back and forth affair for 3 quarters, PC finally pulled away in the 4th and secured a 14-11 win. The win gave PC and Head Coach Wes Stout a 9-2-1 record for the year and back to back winning seasons. Leading the way on the day was Will McNamara (4g 2a), Matt O’Brien (3g 3a), and Parker Burnham (4g). PC also received goals from Nick Butterworth and the LSM duo of Skylar Marsh and John Luebbers. Ashton Todd and Sam Addicott chipped in with 1 assist each. Addicott was also strong on the faceoff x, winning over 50% of the ones he took. Billy Honey had 13 saves on 24 shots. PC will finish their season this Saturday taking part in the first ever F/S Challenge at UVU.
– Three Utah teams will represent the Beehive state in Southern California next week for the MCLA National Tournament. In D-II, BYU earned the #5 seed and will take on #12 Stanford. Westminster was given the #6 seed and will face #11 Georgia Tech. In D-II, Utah State (#15) will take on St. Thomas (#2)

The Ute Women’s lacrosse team won both of its pool play games yesterday and will play in the semifinals today. Their opponent will finish their pool play this morning and then face the Utes this afternoon. It will either be Loyola, Denver or St. Thomas. Read the Lacrosse Magazine recap of Day 1.
