Utah’s Josh Stout named to Under Armour Commanding Performance of the Week Honor Roll

The University of Utah’s Josh Stout was named to the MCLA Under Armour Commanding Performance of the Week Honor Roll for his 10-point performance as Utah routed Cal, 18-6. Stout registered six goals and four assists on the day. Stout also totaled six points earlier in the week between the Utes’ games against Cal Poly and Arizona.

The sophomore from Lone Peak High School in Alpine, UT, will be a major contributor for the Utes this spring in their final season in the MCLA.

Utah High School teams play in the Faith Lutheran (NV) tournament last weekend

Faith Lutheran held a President’s Day Tune-Up, hosting multiple teams from Utah. American Fork, Skyline, and Spanish Fork all made the trip to play in the scrimmages to get ready for the spring season.

Albany jumps Maryland for No. 2 ranking after 15-3 win over Syracuse

The Albany Great Danes jumped to the No. 2 spot in the recent Maverik Inside Lacrosse Division I poll after a blowout win over No. 7 Syracuse in the Carrier Dome.

Led by Tehoka Nanticoke’s five-goal performance, the Albany freshman garnered America East’s Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors.

Maryland came in at No. 3 in the polls, and No. 11 Rutgers fell to No. 13 after a 7-9 loss against then-No.13 Army. Army came in at No. 9 in this week’s poll.

United States to host 2021 FIL Women’s World Cup at Towson University

The United States is set to host the Federation of International Lacrosse’s 2021 Women’s World Cup, the Federation announced Feb. 14.

“On behalf of the FIL board and our 60 member nations, I would like to congratulate US Lacrosse on their winning bid to host the 2021 FIL Women’s World Cup at Towson University,” said FIL president Sue Redfern in a press release.

Steve Stenersen, CEO of US Lacrosse said in the release, “The opportunity to showcase the world’s best players is a privilege, and we look forward to presenting the best of our sport to what promises to be record attendance and unprecedented media attention.”
