Welcome to our ULN Staff Picks. Check out our predictions from some of Week 5-Week 6’s matchups. Don’t agree with us? Comment below.

BOYS:

Matchup: Date Tim Haslam Paul Walker Matt Anderson
Poway (CA) vs. Corner Canyon 4/4 Corner Canyon Poway Poway
Reason: The Chargers will channel some strength and get the win! Both teams are strong. Corner Canyon has just one loss, but Poway has defeated some really good teams. Poway has the home field advantage, which will contribute to their close win. Corner Canyon is a great team. But Poway is just too solid and will pick up the win against their opponent from Utah.
East vs. Highland 4/6 Highland East East
Reason: I think the Rams claim the win here in what should be a great game. Highland has the better record, but East lost by only one point to three of the best teams in the state. That’s no easy task. Can’t pick against my Leopards, especially against Highland. The Rams are currently undefeated so far this season, while East sits at 1-4, but in this rivalry anything can happen.
Olympus vs. Skyline 4/6 Olympus Olympus Olympus
Reason: My wife went to Olympus so I can’t pick against them. This should make for an interesting matchup, as usual. It will be a close fight, but Olympus will win in the end. Another great rivalry matchup. Olympus has played some stellar competition so far this year and will be prepared for this game. Olympus’ defense is holding opponents on average below ten goals a game, while Skyline has struggled to find an offensive rhythm.
Bingham vs. Timpanogos 4/10 Timpanogos Timpanogos Bingham
Reason: The Timberwolves will be too much to handle for the struggling Miners. The Timberwolves have had some great games and a few tough matchups. This is going to be one of those great games. They will take away the win. Two teams that have had solid seasons thus far. I’ve picked against Bingham once already this season and have learned my lesson. Miners take this one.

GIRLS:

Matchup: Date Tim Haslam Paul Walker Matt Anderson Chad Martin Chad Staro
Olympus vs. Skyline 4/9 Olympus Olympus Olympus Olympus Olympus
Reason: The Titans will take home the win and rivalry pride. Skyline has not had the greatest season and Olympus will take advantage of that, not to mention, Olympus has the home field advantage. Olympus has a lot of talent offensively and I don’t see them being slowed-down in this game. Look for Olympus boys and girls to sweep the rivalry this year. Titans have to many role players who can step up and make the Eagles pay.it maight start close but Oly will break it wide open in the end with dominate Midfeild play. Skyline needs depserately to break into the win column, but Olympus will not let that happen this go-round. Too many weapons on the attack lead the Titans handily over the Eagles
Alta vs. Timpview 4/10 Alta Alta Timpview Alta Alta
Reason: Alta will continue to play well and will be enough to get the victory. Alta is the stronger team. Timpview will hold it close, but the Hawks will overcome. Timpview has shown that they can compete. Alta is a great team, but I think Timpview gets the upset here. A lot to be said for the recent offence the Hawks have found but Kimball will be differance maker in this one. The Hawks bring their high flying offense down the valley to clip the wings of the Thunderbirds. Alta has scored nearly 30 goals in their last 2 games, but expect Timp’s defense to keep the differential within 5
Juan Diego vs. Jordan 4/10 Juan Diego Jordan Jordan Jordan Jordan
Reason: I think the Soaring Eagle will pull off the upset. The Beetdiggers have a stong squad this season. This will not be an easy win for Jordan, but it will be a win nonetheless. This should be a great game. Both teams seem evenly-matched. I see this one going down to the wire. Jordan by 1. It will come down to who controls the draw circle. The combo of Burns and Laro will be hard to match up with for The Soaring Eagle’s Despite similar score victories over common opponent Waterford, the Diggers field work will be prove stronger than the Eagles can handle. Jordan by 3
