The Utah Hoppers were featured in a Deseret News article in July about their experience at the World Series of Youth Lacrosse held in Denver, Colorado.

While the Hoppers struggled at the tournament, the theme for the U13 squad was resiliency and not quitting.

The Hoppers were asked to join the tournament on a last-minute invitation. The Hoppers had lost by one goal in the qualifiers in Palm Springs last February, but were able to still make the trip after a team that had been scheduled to participate dropped out.

The author of the article is Jody Genessy, the former Utah Jazz beat writer for the Deseret News, who has a son named Ethan that plays on the team.

The Utah Hoppers are a group of players comprised of boys from the 2023 high school graduating class. They are led by Alta head coach Brandon Horoba, who has also coached Brighton to state championships as well as coached at Utah Valley University.
