The Waterford Ravens and Spanish Fork Warriors played a close game through three quarters on Tuesday at Waterford, but the Ravens ultimately went on to win 6-3 in a Division II showdown.
Waterford took a 2-1 lead after the first quarter. Spanish Fork scored the only goal of the second quarter in a game that was sloppy and littered with offensive mistakes. Both teams scored one goal in the third to tie the game at 3-3 heading into the fourth.

The Ravens took control of the fourth quarter, taking long, settled possessions, scoring three times to seal a 6-3 win.
“We’ve got a lot of young guys and I challenged them to take the game in the last twelve minutes and they did,” said Waterford Head Coach Dave Brattin. “They’ve set the tone for the rest of the season and I’m proud of that.”
Waterford Sophomore Attackmen Matthew West led the Ravens with 1 goal and 2 assists. Spanish Fork Junior Attackmen Tyler Swenson, Junior Midfielder Karac Ashcraft and Sophomore Midfielder Kyle Allsop all found net for the Warriors.
Spanish Fork will face Riverton on Thursday. Also on Thursday, Waterford will head to face the Skyline Eagles.
