The Weber State Men’s lacrosse team is searching for players to fill out its depth chart for the upcoming 2017 season.
“We’ve been working hard on promoting and growing our new program,” said Team President Craig Potter. “With so many high school programs surrounding Weber State, we are confident that there are past players are on our campus who are not continuing to play college lacrosse simply because they do not know about our program.”
Weber State has had a team for a few years now, but 2017 is different because they will be part of the MCLA for the first time this season.
“The games that we will be playing are no longer just scrimmages and will help us to work our way into being more competitive in the league,” said Potter.
Head Coach James Carter and assistant Jarron Woodson have lined up a great schedule for the Wildcats including trips to Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado.
Students that are interested in playing will need to have a minimum of 12 credit hours in order to compete.
“Students below 12 credits are however more than welcome to sharpen up their skills on our practice team,” said Potter. “In order to accommodate the needs of our students our spring fees are low. In addition to competing with top caliber teams, student athletes have the opportunity, should they wish, to be involved with team leadership in helping to grow, maintain, and make decisions effecting the team. Members of team leadership may also be eligible for some tuition reimbursement based on activity waiver funds received from the university.”
