Westminster: Men's Lacrosse Takes to the Road

SALT LAKE CITY — The 10th-ranked Westminster men’s lacrosse team travels to Bozeman, Mont. for two games this weekend.  Westminster will play Montana State on Friday and then face Gonzaga on Saturday.  Both games will be played at Dyche Field.
Westminster takes a 5-4 overall record with them Montana.  They are coming off a 20-1 win over Wyoming last Saturday on Dumke Field.  The Griffins have now won two straight games and outscored the opposition 31-7.  Westminster has outscored their opponents 85-30 in the team’s five wins this season.
Jake Arthur has scored 21 goals to lead all Griffins this season.  Andy Lehr has scored 20 points behind 15 goals and five assists.  Josh Condas and Jacob Wayman have scored 19 points apiece with Wayman collecting a team-best 13 assists.  Dallas McLellan has made 110 stops in goal with a 58.8% save percentage.
About Montana State
Montana State enters the week at 2-4 overall and is coming off an 18-3 loss against Montana last Friday.  The Bobcats have picked up wins over Central Washington and Regis this season.  Brett Hartmann leads the team with 12 goals and is followed closely by Paul Mariana with 11.  Mariana has also posted a team-best 14 assists.  Adam Herrmann leads the goalies with 39 saves and a 45.8% save percentage.
About Gonzaga
Gonzaga brings a 3-6 overall record into this week’s action.  The Bulldogs have dropped four straight games after starting 3-2.  They lost 32-5 to Simon Fraser last Sunday.  Stewart Allen and Matt Spinelli have each scored 12 goals to lead the team.  Sam Hilder has added 11 goals with Aaron Gillman and Payson MacWilliam scoring 10 goals apiece.  Dillon Oldham has made 88 stops in goal while Dominic Angelo has a 61.3% save percentage.
Looking Ahead
The Griffins return to Dumke Field for the final two home games of the season.  They host in-state rival BYU on Wednesday, April 6 and then open RMLC play with Fort Lewis on Saturday, April 9.
