Westminster Men's Lacrosse Unveils 2013 Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster College men’s lacrosse team released its schedule for the 2013 season this afternoon. The schedule features 19 games, including eight games that will be played at Dumke Field.
The season begins on Feb. 15 at the fourth annual Full House Face Off in Henderson, Nev. Westminster will play Cal State Fullerton in the opener before playing defending MCLA D2 National Champion, St. Thomas (Minn.) on Feb. 16. The Griffins will also play the D1 National Champion, Colorado State, the following weekend during a trip to Colorado.
Westminster will play five of the six RMLC D1 teams this season in advance of moving to D1 next season. Along with CSU, the Griffins play Brigham Young (Utah), Colorado, Utah and Utah State. Both BYU and Colorado finished last season ranked in the MCLA Top 10.
There are two NCAA DII teams on the calendar as well this season. The Griffins play at Adams State (Colo.) on Feb. 26 and then welcome Colorado Mesa to Dumke Field on Mar. 16 for the home opener.
The eight-game home schedule also includes Montana State, Fort Lewis (Colo.), Saint Mary’s (Calif.), Utah State, Concordia (Calif.), BYU and Colorado State-Pueblo. Westminster will also play local road games at Utah Valley on Apr. 15 and at Utah on Apr. 20.
The Green Valley Lacrosse Association in Grand Junction Colo. will again play host to the RMLC Tournament from May 2-4. The MCLA National Championships returns to Greenville, S.C. for a second straight year and run from May 13-18.

  1. What a schedule! A couple of interesting points: 1) They are probably one of very few teams to play the MCLA D-I & D-II Champions within a week! 2) Love the fact they are playing almost the entire RMLC D-I to prepare for 2014. 3) LOVE seeing Colorado Mesa is coming to town!
